WIOCC CMO, Mike Last to join Africa panel session at Subsea Connect 2017

Subsea Connect takes place from tomorrow, Tuesday 11th until Wednesday 12th July 2017 in Marseille. Mike Last, CMO & VP, International Business Development of Africa’s carriers’ carrier, WIOCC will be attending and participating in a panel discussion on ‘Africa – looking forward – How is the continent set to ride the waves as it gains increased subsea cable connectivity?’.

The panel is scheduled for Wednesday 12th July (Day 2) at 12:00 -12:50 pm, Q&A format, moderated by Andrew Lipman, Partner, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. Other panellists include Artur Mendes (Angola Cables), Chris George (Google) and Byron Clatterbuck (Seacom).

Recent subsea cable rollouts increasing connectivity in Africa have been a key stimulator of economic growth on the continent, both for countries domestically and from a global perspective. This session will explore what the pathway looks like to increased reliable connectivity, who’ll be paving the way and what’s next for Africa’s digital future.
